OK, So I went out there today. And um, this place would be an incredible place to race. I want to give some info, and see how many are interested.
1- The track is 575' around the curbs. It is shaped with longer straights and tighter turns. (Kinda like Martinsville)I measured a racing line that would be right at 600'. The pits are paved. Easy on and off the track.
2- The cost would be $75/kart for an all day test and tune. If you want to join their club the price gets dropped to $50. In that you will get a min of 15min/hr. If there are people who want to do the rentals we would share the time. The less rentals the more time. This would be on a Saturday or a Sunday, up to us to decide? Could also be midweek?
I talked with a few people who can make it happen, and it is all up to us. There was talk of a racing series, it all would depend on participation? I am not trying to be in charge, just put us closer to them.
Here is where all of you come in. I need some info about what we want to do. Here is what I suggested. Pending a test and tune goes well, and we have enough participation? Remeber the track is asphalt, so this means "Rain or Shine"
*Same two heat and a main format that we are all used to. Pea pick for start of the first heat.
*Keep the rules simple.
1- a junior class
2- a stock piston port class (KT-100)
3- a open class
I dont know what to do about the four stroke classes? It has to be simple!
min of 3 karts to make a class. If not 3, the classes will be combined.
I would like to tell them how many we got.
Who's in?
Shine them karts up and lets do some asphalt!
If you got any good ideas, I suggest we do a test and tune then have a meeting after to discuss how it went, do we want to continue, and what to change?
No Bickering! Leave the attitudes at home!
Just come and have F'in FUN! -KB
